Why do people think dropping their dogs off is such a great ideal? Why? Someone gifted us with a nice, well mannered male black lab mix two weeks ago. Didn't even chase the chickens...looked at them a few times, but didn't eat them. Didn't bother the cats. Pretty good dog. But I already had the two dogs I wanted. So we advertised this dog for two weeks, on the radio, in the newspaper and even posted his picture in the post office. No one claimed him. Pound bound. But at least we have a no-kill shelter to send him to. Way to nice a dog to put down. Thought about keeping it, but the dog wouldn't exactly get along with Jake, who is my dog. But people...PLEASE don't simply drop your dogs off. Do the right thing. Find them a good home.
