Dry faded feathers

My Rhode Island Red hen is having a problem with her feathers. The tips of her feathers started fading and then getting dry and crusty. She is not losing any feathers nor does she have any bald spots. She is laying healthy eggs and is otherwise fine. I am in Phoenix, AZ. It has been extremely hot this summer but her feather were normal until about a week ago.

Here are a few pics of my girl’s feathers. All these feathers used to be red and smooth. Now they are dry, faded, and crispy.

How old is she?
Could just be worn out feathers.

All of her, i.e. the "whole" pullet? A profile photo of her?
