Dry incubation questions

What temps and humidity do you use for dry incubation?

Temp is the same as always. Dry incubating, you don't add any water so you just use whatever humidity your incubator is at. But you don't want to do that unless your humidity is right where you want it.

Dry incubating is done in places that don't require more water in the incubator to get to the humidity level needed for adequate air cell growth. For example where I am 30% humidity is what I need for my air cells to progress properly. So in winter when the outside humidity is really low, I need to add water to my incubator to get the humidity right. In the summer when it's higher I don't so I dry incubate.

the reason I'm asking is because my wooden cabinet incubator is at 40% humidity and 99 and a half degrees .
that seems to be where it wants to stay. should I worry about that? there is a pan of water in it but I read that dry incubation was at 35%.

I don't use a cabinet, but from what I've read people who do use them seem to have more success with the humidity around 45 to 50%, so a little higher is probably good.

I'm like Pyxis, I run 30% incubation. When it stays that w/o water I run dry. Early spring with the pellet stove running my humidity dry is 16% so I add a wet sponge to bring it up.
The problem with the term "dry incubation" is it's taken too literally. I prefer using the term "low humidity incubation". The important thing is to monitor your air cells for proper growth, then you'll know if you need to adjust humidity and how.
I will say, most people I know that use cabinet incubators, especially the wooden ones, run a little higher at 45-50%. I would candle days 7 and 14 and check some air cells to see if adjusting is needed.
