DS opened the incubator!!!!

My four year old opened the incubator (circulated air hova bator) "to see if the eggs were moving." They are due to hatch tomorrow. This is the beginning of the 16th day for the button quail. Are they ruined. I do not think it was too long.

I doubt they are ruined, hens get off the nest all the time. They leave the babies half out and go out for a drink and a snack!

They should be fine. Just duct-tape it closed...

They're fine, don't worry.

Hens get up everday, even the last three days until the hatch. The hens don't say "Up, three days til hatch, better bunker down for the next three days.."

I opened mine a lot (I had three different hatch dates going on) with my orps and I got 100% hatch from them

They are fine.

my homemade bator/hatcher has an opening in the top and i just hatched seven of seven guineas so i think you'll be okay. as someone else said the hens leave the nest too.

Whew! I sure hope to see some of the cute little button quail tomorrow. What a great experience for the kids!!!!

The eggs are sooooo tiny! I cannot believe there are chicks in there. This is so addictive!

Yeah, my son showed up 3 times with blue eggs during the last three days of my hatch!

One he even dropped on top of another egg in the bator. I do believe all 4 of them hatched... though the crushed egg required some extra help.

I'm thinking you will be fine
