Duane Urch

This sure got crazy. Neither Joe Shumaker or Rick Presley badmouthed Mr. Urch. Others defending him said he ran a hatchery with many many breeds and didn't have time to produce or show quality buckeyes. Talk about making a mountain out of a mole hill. The question was answered by two people and I think you can let it go and move on. Some people here should take a time out from BYC and have a beer or a chill pill and cool off. I for one commend Mr. Urch again for keeping buckeyes for over half a century. No matter the quality, he has done a lot for the breed.

Nothing good would come from continuing this conversation. Time for this thread to go to sleep and everyone be adult enough to just walk away.

I agree with Craig (black cochin bantams). this whole thing has gotten out of hand about the buckeyes and people bashing others and their birds...

I continue to follow the thread and support Mr Urch in his efforts.

I originally came on here to find this years' price list and see if anyone else had seen or had his bantam cochins. and while i haven't received my own yet, I am waiting for them eagerly. (gold laced bantam cochin mature pair)

I am hoping to get the telephone call from Mr. Urch next week that my chicks are in the mail. White Jersey Giant, Buckeye, Silver Penciled Wyandotte, and Australorp. Can't believe how my level of excitement has been building all winter. I thank all who have commented in support of my decision to buy from Mr. Urch.

NYREDS,

Do you know who Blueface3 is?

rick

I do.

He's the guy who bought three dozen hatching eggs from Matt John not very long ago. Which means (a little drum roll please), he's working with my bloodlines now (assuming he keeps the four that he managed to hatch.)

You see, Matt was the unfortunate victim of a flood several years ago, not long after he moved to IN from KY. And because we're such good friends, and because he was the one who gave me my start in Buckeyes back in '06, and our bloodlines were so similar, I replaced his losses with birds from my flock. So what he's working with are, essentially, the same bloodlines I had until a couple of years ago, when I added more Urch in.

So congrats Joe! I'm pleased to be able to provide you with some birds. I hope they do well for you on the show circuit this year. Let me know if they help get you closer to Master Exhibitor. Happy to help as I can.

You are bit full of yourself woman.....yes...I did get 3 dz about a month ago......out of 3 dz......9 made it 3 weeks and only 3 made it longer than a day......I called Matt and he said he would do nothing more to make for better results......so please get over yourself. I liked the color of the birds and that is about it. I've seen a few of them in the show pens in Indiana...the overall size is small and type is needing some work in reference to the standard. Now before you go on a tiraid.....go to his website and Matt openly claims that the cock size is 8 1/2 pounds......now that is smaller than the standard.....so don't get your panties in a bunch over that comment. The man admits it himself!

Futhermore......How are they your birds? Didn't they come from John Brown.........drum roll...........yes I think they did! Or that is at least what you claim on your site. I have the stock at home to maybe help them. Figured I experiment a little. Of course this is just my opinion. I have all the genes I'll ever need right now to maintain the ship. You're a trip woman....Matt claimed that they we all from John Brown's stock and added nothing to them and that directly from his mouth!.......now is that the truth? Get over yourself!

Listen to you! Those birds are 2 weeks old abnd there is only 3 of them which doesn't account for the 175 or so that I hatched from my stock.....anything to make yourself feel better about being you I guess.......

to Pathfinders specifically... if you have a problem with duane urch's birds, simply don't buy them. simple as that. you don't need to keep knocking his and other people's buckeyes because yours are so much better...

IMO, take the argument privately. I don't want to hear any more, personally. this is not a 'who's buckeyes are better' thread. if you want to argue that, start a new one. i don't have buckeyes, nor would i want to. i have my own breeds and projects to occupy my time and efforts. and to that effort, Duane Urch has been a godsend.

so PLEASE! if you're not going to discuss Duane urch's birds specifically, then take it somewhere else. I'm just tired of the constant back and forth bickering.
