Twinlights I am hoping to get into breeding d'Uccles in the near future and I am very interested in the brown red d'Uccles. I know you said you would not have any eggs available this year, but I sure am very interested in getting some of those and also some of your lavender and mille fleur etc colours once they are available! Boy is that going to be a LOOOONNNGGG wait! In the meantime I am going to try and get my head around some of those d'Uccle genetics !!!! Anyone got some suggestions on good reading for the complete novice? I really need to figure out what the alleles and all the other terms mean... enough to make my head spin! But SO interesting...

Godiva, I may have some brown red hatching eggs this fall. All depends on the girls and how they are laying then. My plan is to hatch as many as I can this summer, too warm to ship anyway. Then whatever I have available in the fall can go.

Ooooh! THat is exciting Twinlights! The first time I saw that colour I just fell in love with it and then when I saw it on d'Uccles.... well I was done for

Of course I just adore the d'Uccle personality and looks but that colour is just stunning to me. Please keep me in mind for the fall - I would be thrilled to get some of those if it worked out! I know my birds often go broody in the fall so that would probably work well for us. What colour are the chicks?

The chicks are black, as the feathes come in you start to see the brown around the neck and wings. I will try to get some photos of some of mine, its raining here and been raining forever it seems. IF the sun ever comes out I will post some.

Thanks Twinlights.... I would love to see some pics of your birds. Do you have any pics of some of your other colours? I had a look at your website but a number of the colours were not shown... when the sun comes out anyway

I will try to get some photos. I have been so very busy with the horses.
I am having trouble with photos on my web site. It won't let me change stuff, keeps saying it is shutting down and then does so, before I can save and publish. Grrrr!

Thanks Twinlights! I can totally sympathise with your tech troubles! And being spring I am sure the horse side of things is crazy busy too. I am in no rush - when things settle down will be fine

- I will not be able to take any for a little while anyway..... I have to wait until we have figured out our next accomodation as well, I don't want to be moving with a whole bunch of little chicks. We are in this rental until October and then hopefully we will find a place that will be even better for us and our birds.
