How are your Mille fleur males temperament wise? I've tried on several occasions with them and I have yet to get one that didn't utterly despise human beings before he finished puberty.

Because I didn’t get them as babies the are a little skidish but I’ve go them the eat out of may hand and come over to me. I’ve never had one be mean.

Okay. Mine have all been hatchery, which would explain some of them being mean, but I've tried so many and just can't get a nice one. My other color males do just fine, it's literally just that one color I can't seem to get luck on. I'm about to just throw in the hat and breed from my gold neck and just cull heavy until I have Mille fleurs again from him and some hens

Ah, I’m sorry. D’Uccles, In my experience have never been mean. Maybe its just hormones right now? Maybe they’ll get friendly as they get older.

Nope, they never did. Last one we had was about 4 and drew blood any chance he had since he was like 4 months old. Shame too, he was stunning, but I won't keep birds that draw blood from someone they recognise

Nope, they never did. Last one we had was about 4 and drew blood any chance he had since he was like 4 months old. Shame too, he was stunning, but I won't keep birds that draw blood from someone they recognise

I did have this experience with a female duccle.. she was drawing blood from minnie and daisy, and that was as a tiny 4 week old. But minnie and daisy are just the most loving. Were yours all hatchmates?

Well tomorrow I'm definitely prepping.. Nowww they're saying itll be a wind chill of NEGATIVE 7 Thursday night. Unbelievable. I'll setup the brooders and start wrapping pipes in the morning.

Different hatcheries, different years. He was an aggressive breeder, which isn't enjoyed, but I would have kept him if it was only that
