Gammas Bearded Babies
Crossing the Road
Oh I LUV that!!!I was preparing myself for the big comb spurt around 5-6 weeks like I’ve seen people say is about the point when you start to know if your d’Uccle is a girl or boy. So far…I feel like they look the same as they did 2 weeks ago. They are 6 weeks as of today! They’re still really tiny though, so I’m thinking they may be a bit slower to mature. The lavender gene seems to correlate with slow maturing/feathering in my experience. They’re so sweet and are fitting in well with the silkies, Polish, and AmeraucanasIt’s cute because the Ameraucanas are about 2 months old and they are acting like mommas to them. They roost together and the d’Uccles snuggle under them on the bar. I’ve decided I can give them names finally…since I’m more hopeful I can keep them. They are named after my favorite flower, the calla lily, Calla and Lily. They are sweet and dainty like a pretty flower…I even have calla lilies on my wedding ring.
Seems to suit them
