I have 2 D'Uccle eggs in the bator, on day 20-21, I have lost count. I have an internal pip on one. The humidity reads at around 57%, goes up to 63. It is very humid out right now, I am afraid of the membranes being so wet they drown. Should I amp the humidity? I am afraid of shrink-wrapping too! Don't know what exactly to do.

At this stage leave everything alone and walk away from the incy for a few hours. The very worst thing you can do right now is to fiddle with temp or humidity.

I do get how you feel. I make myself leave the house when chicks start hatching otherwise I'd drive myself mad!

I know! I should just walk away, I want that chick so bad. It is peeping now, and the beak is in the aircell. Wish I could get a pic, but my phone is the flashlight, so can't really do that....
@Pyxis, what shall I do? Should I make a safety hole? I've scoured your article, but would like firsthand advice. It is peeping, beak high in the aircell.
SAFTEY HOLE?

SAFTEY HOLE?

How long has it been internally pipped? It never really hurts to put in a safety hole, so you could if you wanted to.

I'd make sure the humidity in the incubator is at least 65%. At this point, as long as they lost enough moisture over the incubation period, they're not in danger of drowning if they humidity in the incubator is raised :)

For a good 15 hours at least now. I will raise the humidity. It is at 57% now, I will do what ya say!

So I went down to find a pip, I chipped away at the air cell, and it was really dry so I wetted it with coconut oil and a qtip. There are veins as you can see, and it is still absorbing the yolk, because it is yawning. See that spot of red? I don’t remember if that was there when I wetted it, but when I was gently rubbing in that area the chick made a squeal. @Pyxis, help me! Will it bleed to death?!!!!!!!!!!
