D'Uccle eggs hatching. On pins and needles

What happened in the end? You definitely went in to early. Once they pip and can breath you really do need to leave them be. Hopefully the little chick made it though

He should be fine You opened up the air cell earlier than necessary, but as long as things are kept moist he should be okay.

He's out! Hatched around 4 this afternoon, feisty and kicking. Yolk was absorbed and the veins gone! He is drying off right now.

I got a little carried away, I shouldn't have. Next time I will let the chick do it. She came out this late afternoon, looking great!! It was funny, she went to the under side of the egg and zipped, but got a little stuck. I removed more bits of the shell, and she soon pushed out, kicking and squeaking! She's doing great right now.

The way this chick was determined, I probably didn't need to assist at all. I've never successfully hatched before, this was my first egg to actually survive and come out.

@obicat, or @Unexpected chicken lover, @Pyxis ( sorry to keep bothering you, ya must be sick of me!)
He isn't completely dry yet, but can I put him in my preheated brooder with a heat lamp with a clear bulb about 5-6 inches above him? In that little dumb bator there wasn't room for him and the other egg while he fluffed, and I had to put a dry paper towel in there to support him from falling into the holes, and lowered the humidity thus because I didn't want him to be chilled on the damp paper towels, or tip the water pan over. The other egg is under my broody, but only temporarily because I don't want her to crush/smoosh the baby, so I want to put it back in the bator? What would you guys do in this situation?

Quickly and carefully transfer him to the brooder...do u have a thermometer in there as well?
He will be fine, i had to move a few of mine still wet

Broody? Yes, move the hatchling and put tge egg back in the bator love...wont be long
