I found some eggs to give my broody, BUT!! My broody's raise the babies with the flock. So would it be safe to give an EE D'uccle eggs to raise with a flock of EE's? The D'uccles are soooo small. :/ I ordered them, but now I'm 2nd guessing myself.

Ee's are typically pretty freindly. I have standards in with bantams and if introduced correctly and or raise in the flock you should be fine. If you have a good broody she'll take care if them :)

Thanks! I do have a big brooder, so if worse came to be, I could take them from her. I just really like for my girls to raise the ones I plan to keep and choose from. Lol

I understand and I'd go for it and give it a shot!!! Good luck!

I have D'uccles raised with large fowl and they are fine. The large hens and rooster leave them alone. They may chase them if they get too close to them, but nothing vicious.

Good luck..

I just had a bad experience doing the big chicken/small chick thing. Fortunately I removed the chicks before they got killed.
I had a big Wyandotte hen set and hatch a bunch of little Calico Cochin Bantams. She loved them and cared for them very good but got way to enthused at feeding, and usually scratched them right out of the area, throwing them hard and far. It was not good, plus she stepped on a few while scratching and her big feet and toenails looked huge beside those tiny helpless babies.
I gave them to a Silkie.
Just my two cents.....really little chicks don't always do so well with big grown birds, give it a try but watch closely! Good Luck!
