D'uccle Thread

400

Our two, Mac and Cheese, with my daughter. Picture taken about three weeks ago, they are about 23 weeks old now.

Question, I caught them in the nest box yesterday, Mac (the one on the right) was nestled down, with Cheese kind of standing guard over her. Didn't think much of it, but then later I noticed them both eating oyster shells. So my question, should I expect eggs soon? From what I've read I wasn't expecting anything for another couple months, if they even started before spring.

Their appearance hasn't changed to any degree since the pics, combs are not any redder, no squatting. Thoughts?

I have never been there before, but will be going this year. Showing and of course buying! Good luck finding your D'uccles
We go to the Ohio National Every year, there are usualy a good 20 to 30 in the open class Millie Fluer color, and maybe 10 or so porcelain...
and about hte same in the youth, (where my son shows) I usualy dont see many other colors there. there will usualy be several for sale in the sale pens, if you are interested in buying
Jim Grober has Millie/ and porcelain and Bill Patterson has Millie... they may in fact have other colors, but I am not sure of that.
they would be a good place to start in getting ahold of them PRIOR to the Ohio National... to reserve birds.

Thank you for letting me know. Maybe I will send off some e-mails. I feel bad doing that when they don't have any birds listed anywhere though.
