D'uccle Thread

We have a baby cockerel who I normally keep in a separate coop and they rarely range together. He did try to get her once and i grabbed him put him away. He's only 10 weeks or so. He's not crowing and attempting to get the smaller hens like my bantams. She started this behavior before I took him outside. Just not sure what else to do? But wait....
chickens sometimes get goofy like that, I would probably just keep bringing her out once a day, and hopefully she will forget why she started it, I've had hens hide inside, if not the rooster, is the other hens bothering her. You're just going to have to wait it out, if she wants to sit in the coop all day that's her choice.

It's not the cockerel. She is a bantam but after her first brood she really went up in the pole! She has no problem chest bumping a standard hen! I guess I'll wait it out. I did take her out this morning . When I picked her up she made a hurtful sound. I was gentle . I shut the coop up to see if she would stay out for the rest of the day. If she does not want to she will scream at me and run to her coop. Little princess !! Thank you for all your help and others!!! She truly is one of the best, smartest, sweet neat hen!

Won BV and BB with my Mille Roo. I also took RB and RV with a Mille hen. The judge pulled this guy out of his cage to compare with another rooster for Best Featherleg so almost won the feather leg class! But I know he didn't actually take it due to condition-his tail feathers were not yet fully grown from molting a month ago or so. Very proud of this guy though!

Nice looking rooster! You have some impressive birds.

Wow! Some very beautiful birds on this thread. Angie I hope your hen is doing better.
Here's Ruben at 8 weeks now. Hes been crowing for over a week and he's getting it down a lot better. 4 plain notes now but he's working on the inflection.

This is the last of this spring's incubator project. I ended up with four Cockerels and chose to keep him. The other three were traded for a Hen. Here is Junior he looks a lot like his dad but has better feathering on his face.

Nice looking rooster! Needs more spangling abd white tips on tail feather but do you show birds or pets?

I'm pretty sure his tail will get the white tips as his dad has. He is pretty young still. Just pet's but I try to breed them for breed standard.
