D'uccle Thread

My friend who has bred D´Uccles since his granddaddy says they are either little demons or sweeties.

My D´Uccle rooster is protective of his flock. He is small and can not do much damage. If you raise them well they are sweet roosters.
Honestly it seems to be a bit of a crap-shoot for lack of a better term. It’s all about how you handle them and even then hormones can get the best of them sometimes (especially in spring), but d’Uccles are usually very sweet natured, if all else fails they’re tiny and can’t do too much damage lol.

Crap. Mine were just awful last time, they had no problem flying up into your face to go after you. They were raised the same as my current ones, so I really hope something good clicks this time around.

They can be mean. It depends on how you raise ´em.
Definitely agree, I’ve got a rooster I hatched and raised myself who attacks if I hold eye contact with him too long, and another rooster I bought at a year old who started off feral and now he’s the sweetest little guy. The mean rooster is also sweet and perfect sometimes. Ya never know...

Here's the first one. She's about 8 weeks, and thinking female.

I have several excellent roosters. One completely ignores me, one, a silky, follows me around the yard wherever, another silky whom loves hanging around me to, and a tiny Japanese whom loves to think he's the boss of the coop. All of them are excellent with the flock and only the silky rooster will bite if I startle him.
