Everyone looks great Lori. Nice pics of the blues too. Is it possible they are not 'laced' but rather more of a 'lemon-blue'? Just a thought.
PartiBoy REALLY looks Lemon to me, he's at that stage now where you can really see the color well in his wings, saddle and hacks. Was he born black also, because my lemons are black based at hatch and dont start showing real good color till about 8-12 wks??
As far as my little Lav/blu GN roo goes, I believe between feathersites and a couple interesting belgian links, he is in fact not a GN at all, but rather what is called "Blue *Buff* Mott", and my hens are buff mottleds to. Same exact patern on all the birds I've seen, and there is a HUGE difference between GN and the buff Mots......so??
Yes, yes...Will get pics of babies today
In the mean time here are pics that show the difference between buff mottled and GN Duccles from Feathersites. I also found out that my one girl I thought to be khaki is a "cream" mottled, so I'm pleased with that.
Cynthia, you got to be half nutz to join this group, but we're sure glad your here!! I've had both breeds and much pref. the Duccles over the Dans, but both are gorgeous breeds.
