D'uccle Thread

This is good stuff... thanks folks.

Someone asked about the colors of D'Uccles currently recognized. The latest APA Standard of Perfection (dated 2001) lists the varieties as black, golden neck, mille fleur, mottled, porcelain, self blue, and white. I do know that blue mille fleur is also accepted as is brown red (red brown?? - can never remember which it is). I don't know what other colors are recognized beyond that. There is supposed to be a new SOP coming out soon.

The SOP lists the ideal color of a white's legs as "pinkish white".

I hope this helps...

Crystalchick, what's your seller name on ebay or eggbid? Do you expect to have any eggs or chicks available anytime soon? Your birds are gorgeous and I'd love some!

I'm new to the breed. I have 3 cockrels and 4 hens. The cockrels all have laced tail feathers. Looks like a sebright tail. Does this usually molt away or is this permenant? Thanks for any info.

I think the D'Uccle genetic thread was a good Idea. I am still working at getting things sorted out on what is the potential of the crosses to ensure I get something that still is good for the breed. Hen did chime in on the post I had back on Page 16.
on the weekend we attended a Chicken Auction and we got what looks like a lemon mille fluer (It may be a differnt color) D'Uccle. I will try to get pictures of him up if possible.

Thanks, I have been looking for what the Splash would look like for a while now. I have a chick that is 7 Weeks old that came from a Blue Mille Fluer to a Blue Mille Fluer. I have some blues some blacks and one with only gold and white sofar.
