this is blue boy. i want to show him and i know he would have points taking off for his wattles and possably having a small beard (i prefer a nice full beard) but other than that everyone who has seen him says he is a great example for a d'uccle(he is from a hatchry) and the self blue color and the wattles and beard are his only down falls heres my photo bucket link which also includes my oegb

This is Louis XIV- my porcelain cockerel. I believe he'll be a year old in March.

he looks pretty good to me i cant really see the foot feathering on him though

I'd like better feathering on hs feet - of course I want the foot feathering of your blue roo

I guess my plan is to breed my boy to the hens with the most foot feathering and see if that helps.

Any other magic anywhere to produce the feet that everyone seems to want now? I read the standard and it says "plumage, outside toe and outside of middle toe covered"

I guess that is "adequate"?

Ok guys.... remember my "blue mille fleur" d'uccle I just hatched out in October from my 2 porcelain parents?

Well... it turns out his mother was a tramp & his "father" wasn't his father! No wonder he looks so weird.

About 10 days ago, he suddenly started changing. A LOT. All of a sudden, he's TWICE the size of his mother and has a strong resemblance to a 12-pound delawegger rooster we sold about 6 weeks ago!

How could a 12-pound delawegger rooster and a tiny porcelain d'uccle hen produce an offspring?

It was the delawegger that accidentally ran over the porcelain rooster in the yard, inflicting the injuries that took his life a few weeks later. I am wondering now if there was a scuffle between them because Charlie (the porcelain roo) didn't let any of the other roos near Portia.

But little Linus (which is what I named the chick) is GINORMOUS. He is not quite 3 months old and is already trying to mount his mother.

Sorry to here about losing D'Uccle Roo! Also sorry to here that Linus isn't pure bred, but that happens, and with that some become fantastic birds. Are you going to keep him with momma if he's already trying to breed her?
