Cackle hatchery has d'Uccles to. I got some from them back in July and they're beautiful! Also, I had a great experience with my first time from ordering from a hatchery, Cackle is great!

I am still looking for a show quality self blue d'uccle rooster. Somebody has to have one or know someone who does. I got 5 hens just waiting for him! Also would like to have a pair of porcelain's. Any help would be great!!!

Not sure exactly where your location is, but there's a show in NC on April 14th. Since the club president is one of the show planners, there should be a decent turn-out of d'Uccles and booteds. I know you want a roo sooner than that, but I can't help you. I settled for a breeder quality lav roo because I couldn't find a better one. My hens are all PRIMO, though, and the club pres said I should hatch some pretty babies even with the lesser quality roo.

I got my first eggs from the lav pen this week, so I'm hoping fertility is there and I'll hatch some babies!

I have 3 black d'Uccle chicks in the brooders this very moment.

If you do go through a hatchery, buy a bunch and grow them out. Then pick the best of the bunch and sell the others. I know of several people that got some decent birds by going this route.

Since I don't heat my coop or supplement the light in there, I have very few d'Uccle hens laying.

The silkies have been laying more dependably. But I noticed that when I switched pens, the ones that had been laying better stopped, and the birds that had been laying infrequently picked up. I think it's because that pen gets the most winter sunlight. So the next experiment is to put the self-blue d'Uccles into that pen and see if they start laying better. I may even put a couple of black hens in there and get some splits to work with.....

Does anyone know of someone on the list that would ship eggs or chicks? The egg purchase with the other person on there wasn't good..but as they said, they had too much going, I guess, and now I am back to trying to buy eggs and get them shipped, without all the mistakes? So, any guidance here would be great! Still hoping to buy froma breeder, not hatchery, but may have to try that route?

I started a facebook page, and will work on the website soon. I am waiting to let Karl finish updating the show reports. He'll be off-line for a couple of weeks, so I want to update it when I know he won't be trying to access it.

have a question when do mille flur d uccles start to lay eggs cause i have one that is 11 months old and hasent laid one

she will start laying once she gets lots of light and it gets warmer. the more light a hen gets the better they lay
