D'uccle Thread

Nice where did you score those little bitties?
Michele

They are hatchery stock, but I will add in other blood lines when I figure out their flaws. It was buy hatchery to start or have my buddies chicks shipped from the U.K. don't think they would have made that trip.
I got them in a D'uccle Assortment from Ideal Hatchery, but it looks like I got a lot of Mille and buff columbian chicks along with the 4 Golden neck.

Hi all I am new to this thread of BYC, we recently bought this little guy (about 3 months ago) I just thought he was cute and he was in with a buff banty cochin. I have been told he is a gold neck d'uccle, I hope that is what he is. Does anyone here live in the OK area that has any girls for sale? He needs a girl or two. He is currently in our laying hen pen and has recently started trying to breed. It is sad really because sometimes he is on backwards and then struts around like he has done something special. I don't have the heart to tell him the girls are laughing at him, lol. He also has started trying to flog me when I go in to collect eggs. This last time we had a meeting of the wills and haven't had problems in the last 3 days, haha. Hope I can find him some girlies, if I can't find d'uccles what other breed would be good for him? I don't care about selling pure breeds from him but would like him to have his own little flock to care for.

wow, that is an awesome looking bird. I would love to see more pics of him. I hope your able to find some D'uccle hens for him:)

I am going to try to add a photo of 1 of my 3/4 Mille Fleur d'Uccle 1/4 White Old English Bantam hens. When they are bred back to pure Mille Fleur rooster some chicks turn out colored like this hen and some turn out looking pure Mille Fleur they are all always bearded with heavy booted feet. The white chicks out of these hens usually have alot stronger buff to red color than their mothers........https://www.backyardchickens.com/image/id/6697441/width/400/flags/LL crossing fingers picture shows up

I just joined this site yesterday and so glad to see a D'Uccle Thread .... I have raised Belgian Bearded Mille Fleur D'Uccle's for 15 years they are my favorite breed. I have 3 incubators going right now with both pure Milles and some Mille crosses that will be hatching over the next 2 weeks. If I can figure out how to attach pictures to the threads I will share photos. I do have a couple of pictures in a album in my profile. Looking forward to meeting other D'Uccle loving people

Yay! Welcome! Nice to meet someone who's stuck with the breed for a while! Can't wait to see more pics from you!

o.k So here is an update on the little white chick with black chipmunk stripes i posted a while back. He/she is Feathering out like this any Ideas of its coloring? all these kiddie are going on 4 wks.

Here is what I think is a Mille Cockerel same age as chick above, am I right about him being a Mille Fluer?

And this chicks foot feathering looks blue, could it be a Blue Mille Fluer? Cockerel? frontal shot of comb in next picture chick in back.

Buff Columbian or MIlle Fluer? Cockerel or pullet!

And 3 Golden neck chicks, all three combs look the same, Pullets?

the first one definitley is a mille fleur, since you can see the pattern on the feathers. I can't really say about the others though!

They are all Mille Fleurs just not for sure what colors they will all mature. I have only raised the darker mahogany red colored Mille Fleurs which is what that first chick will be and then I have my 3/4 Mille crosses that are that light white with buff to red color pattern the 5th pictured chick look like a blue Mille Fleur to me , I do occasionally have one of those come out every now and then and that is what they look like as babies. The last pictured chicks could be golden necks but they also kind of look like Blues but it could just be the photo. Either way they are all pretty

Hey everyone!
Is anyone working on lemon mille fleurs, whites, and mahogany mille fleurs? Id love to see pics of what you have. Id like to find quads of the lemons and whites and just one mahogany roo. Do you breed mahogany milles to reg milles?

Also id love to see pics of your show quality milles and porcelains. Im trying to decide if I want to get back into d'uccle or not.
Thank you, Lisa
