D'uccle Thread

Thanks Doug for your comments. Eric is just shy of 2 yrs old, I guess he'll be 2 in the early spring.

I just finished talking with a friend of mine and the MF are going to live in Texas. I am VERY happy about this because the hens are such babies and one of them is a real pet. I worry about where she is going to be. I know Sandy will spoil them as much or more than I do.

Glad you found them a safe and happy home!

Wish I'd known where to find you at the OH Nationals....
I looked at the BYC table but didn't where you were signed in.

I was looking for you also. I kept watching around the birds thinking I might find someone feeding your birds and I'd be able to track you down that way. Anyway, you have gorgeous birds!

Doug, I love drooling over your lemon boy. I am so jealous and wish we had them in the states.

would love to swap eggs sometime to help build my program a bit more, that is IF you were game.

Wegotchickens, did you see the "color" of the goofy project roo pic I posted? Was curious if that was the same or similar color of your mahogany? He's been culled and placed as a pet, but the color/pattern was interesting to me. Heres a different pic...

Pretty!
Interestingly, my guy's touch of mahogany faded away. I can't find it now. It was pretty heavy on his wing but now all I see there is gold. Weird.

Hi folks,

I am new here. I do not have any chickens yet. We are planning on getting some in the spring. But I wanted to let you know how much I have enjoyed seeing your birds in this thread and learning a little more about them. I am in love with all the beautiful millie fleurs and porcelain d'uccles out there.

I wish I had see this thread before I had gone to the Ohio Nationals and maybe had a chance to speak with some of you there. The birds that were shown there were absolutely stunning. Once we get some things set up here, I really hope to be able to get some nice quality d'uccles

That is interesting. I wonder now if my old roo has faded also?? He was around 8mos old though, so hard to say. Your GN's that were posted on heer are gorgeous

I've got a very SMALL program (5 birds) going with some 'washed out' gn's that are more of a cream/dun color than white. I want to see what they produce and if they are similar to your butterscotch birds. Do you have any pics of yours to share? Would love to compair and see if we may have the same 'type' going on
