D'uccle Thread

What if i crossed my porcelains with another mottled breed? I know it takes 2 copies and whatnot; wouldn't that be pretty swappable if the mottling was already there?
(Speckled sussex)

how many copies do you need of the mottling to get it back? (If i had a standard wild-type EE)

I have decided that no matter the colors, i like the mottle pattern the best of all of them :)

About 6.25%, so you would need to hatch a LOT of chicks. And only about 18.75% would be mille's.

Sweet thanks, I was wondering how to breed porcelain and I wasn't having any luck looking it up. Genetics is so interesting.

Quote: Those are brown reds. Not sure about that row of white under their beards, though. That's different.
They come from a Mille x Mottled hen I think at first I thought my Marans got a hold of them but I no longer have the Marans roo and someone is still throwing them, I do have a nice boy though and girl I think they are rather pretty. I got some crazy chicks this go around. Even though everyone is in variety pens. I think a Mottled hen that was born from a Mille and Mottled breeding throws them.

I think they are pretty neat. Very different variety for d'uccles. And if you could keep that mottled necklace as the only mottling, what a hoot!
