Too bad d'uccles aren't born this brightly marked....
My bright lemon project has finally had some success. I have been breeding for a bright lemon yellow d'uccles for my citreon mille project and finally hatched two bright ones. I've put in my normal lemon colors to show comparision.
Finally got the eggs in the bator today. Now I just have to wait, ugh!!!! We had crappy weather when I was collecting eggs this week so I hope they didn't get too chilled. I am so excited to see what I get, I mixed a lot of colors together so am hoping for some fun surprises. Hopefully I will have pics to post in a few short weeks!
Here's today in natural light. you can see the difference between just a diluted buff and the lemon. Sure wish I knew what extra gene is causing that, and why it was so darned hard to come by.
Pretty sure now that Uncle Millie is a roo. What's their temperament? I think he's the only roo in a flock of 12 girls. This was earlier today l, took the whole flock outside. They're 2 1/2 weeks old . Oh. & little Pepper who was sick is fine now!
