Ok all you Brinsea fans can you help me decide? I *NEED* a new incubator but wanted to know which one you all thought I should get. Budget wise I am torn between the Octagon 20 manual or the mini with automatic turner (both are about the same price on Amazon). One holds 7 and one holds 20-24. The question I have is which is more important--automatic turning (I work all day every day) or more egg space. Right now 7 would be fine at a time, but in the future would I need more? It would sorta keep me "under check" for not hatching too many chicks, but I'm still torn. I guess I could get a turner for the octagon 20, but they are so darn high!!! Has anyone had both before (mini vs. Octagon) and have any insights on which I should get?

I have the mini advance and the auto turner is great! I wouldn't want to have to turn by hand.

If I had more coop space, I'd surely try this variety. But with milles, blue milles, porcelains, golden necks and self blues...I'm out of SPACE!!

Along with all my Little Giant units, I just got an Octagon 20 with the turner and the humidity pump. I couldn't live without the turners and I'm hoping the humidity pump makes for better hatches.

Get the OCT20 and splurge for the turner. I adore mine!
But, the Oct20 does not require hand-turning the eggs because you turn the entire unit. But I work full time and like having the turner.

I have the mini with the auto turner. I love it. I can also fit 7-10 D'uccle eggs in there with some creative placement. I have had great hatch rates, it is easy to clean and it is SO fun to watch them hatch. I thought about getting a larger one, but then I would be hatching too many and my husband may frown upon that.

I got it in April and it hasn't been turned off yet. I put in eggs at odd times-sometimes I'll have eggs with 3 or 4 different hatch dates all in there at once. I lock them down and hatch them in a GQF Genesis. I figured, when I bought the Brinsea, that I would buy a turner later on, but don't feel like I need one. It was one of the best purchases I've made.

Do you have any issues with humidity? I live in the south and seem to have issues with my previous styrofoam incubators and humidity levels.
