D'uccle Thread

Okay so I don't know if this question has already been answered. A lot of pages here :) I have a self blue roo (all my other blue chicks died in shipmen :-( ). I was wondering what I would get if I cross him with my porcelain hens? The poor guy needs a job and I've had a hard time find more blues in my area

Self Blue is the same gene as the lavender, so you'll create blue colombians and self blues. The mottled gene needs two copies, so you'll have to breed the offspring back to the porcelains to bring back the mille fleur pattern.

Hi Corilibba,
Don't have the answer to your question but just wanted to say "Hello" from someone formerly from your area (went to college at NMSU and grew up about 35 miles away).
Come join us on the Missouri thread if you haven't already.https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/73271/calling-any-one-from-missouri/

Blue columbians and more self blues huh? That's interesting. I bet the blue columbian would be pretty. It's a shame that's not a recognized color. Might be a fun project anyway. Thanks for the info. Genetics are neat. Always something more to learn

about 4 weeks old

hatch 3/31

Michelle - I'm betting Sassy (blue) is a boy. The splash has the least of a comb, really not much, but she is growing soooo big! I can't decide what I think about the mille (skittles, I think, lol!)

I think I may have six hatch mates of these guys. That is if you got them from mstricer.

yep, they are from her. I am now thinking the blue might be a boy and the mille is a female, like she told me. I looked up more pics. The blue is really just sassy and more feisty so I named it Sassy. they are so cute and I love them!
