D'uccle Thread

I like some LF (EEs, Brahmas, Sussex, Australorps), but a lot of the breeds people typically rave about I haven't liked much. But I've liked every bantam I've ever had, in it's own way (D'Uccles, Sebrights, Cochin, Silkie, OEGB).

As of tomorrow from Privett I'll have three new breeds of bantams I've never tried before: Dutch, Pyncheon, and d'Anver. 

And along with them I'll also be getting 9 new "assorted d'Uccles" - I'm excited to see what colors I end up with, because I've only had mille fleur. The possibilities are millies, porcelain, white, mottled, gold neck, or self blue. I really want some self blues!

i have had EEs, Ameraucanas, cochins, white rocks, rusdian orloff, salmon favorelles, brahmas, cornish, rit, rsl, bsl, leghorns, speckeled sussex. and i think thats it. Some of which i did not like but much but many i still have today. The only bantams i have are OEGBs and the others i have only had for a few days duccle, cochin, polish and salmo favorelle. I have had silkies but will not own them again. I said the same thing about polish though and i boughtone the other day. I am impartial to LF since i have had those way lomger but i like the bantams i have too. I hope you het some self blues!

I had a Porcelain Blue Dutch roo that was my absolute favorite chicken of all time. He was wven sweeter than my D'uccle. I also have 2 Quail D'anver roos who are about 2.5 years old. They are brothers and have skways been best of friends they would dtick together and team up on the LR roos. Yesterday I noticed tgem puffing up at each other which isn't that unusual, but when I went to close up at night I reslized they had beat the crap out of each other. One is missing most of his beard and has a eye swollen shut.

Well, I got my order, and for the most part they look good (only one DOA, which isn't bad considering it's almost November and I'm in WI). But I'm a little disappointed, because I ordered 9 d'uccle and 5 Dutch and I got 6 d'uccle and 8 Dutch. I'm not sure how that worked. Plus the one that died I think was a crestless Pyncheon, and I ordered 6, got four with crests, and one that I think is a crestless Pyncheon (plus the dead one). There weren't any extra chicks at all, even with changing my order on me
Hopefully I can get some money back at least, but it doesn't help that I still ended up with less d'uccles than I wanted...

Yep, got the right number of D'anver and EEs (for my mom). Just the Dutch and D'Uccles got messed up. Im not upset about the Pyncheons, I excpected to lose a chick or two.

I would definatley be emailing them if they messed up your order. And you would think that they would send extras this time of year. Where did you order from?

ok, heres the pullet I got. She isreally sweet, well except for around 9pm she kept pecking my hand everytime I tried to touch her. Any opinions on her are appreciated, good or bad.







I like her tail span, the coloring is pretty


she dosent normally stick her chest this far out and usually holds her tail slightley higher.

Does anybody think she is SQ?
