I agree about the Silkies, don't oreder from ANY hatchery if you can help it. They don't look much like Silkies at all.
But nice chickens anyhow.
And I really like your Cochins!

Ok thank you I figured thats how it may be but I guess I got it wrong tho... Im asking because I MAY buy from a guy who has not seperated his D'uccles yet, as far a color goes. I guess its actually a mille roo over a mille/porcelain hen, a black mottled hen & a blue mottled hen (so a mille roo over 3 diff color hens) would the black and blue mottled still turn out looking mille like you said the all porcelain would? I hope that makes sense!?? Im still learning all the color genes and what crosses will make what. I know these would not be any acceptable show colors... im not looking to show I just love the D'uccle breed and as long as there pure bread I love all the color variations. Thanks so much for any input :)

Some of my chicks are 7 weeks old and I don't see very much showing to be roosters. Wouldn't they be showing bigger redder combs by now?
Or am I looking too soon?
Also some of them are tiny, really healthy and active but lots smaller than the others. I thought they might be pullets, and I think they are but not just cause they are small.
I know you need pics!!!! The small ones are so cute. Of course even the "big" ones are just a hand full.
I think you'd be able to tell by now, I usually have an idea of gender at 2 weeks, and know for sure by 4 weeks. None of the ones in your pictures looked like boys to me. I have really good luck with d'uccles in getting lots of girls. My last batch was 8 girls, 3 boys.
