D'uccle Thread

I think I will hold on to them, I have all ready culled the ones I didn't think were ever going to make it, the this foot feathers or lack of muff....some of these are sure strange colors but they are decent little birds .....And I'm  glad you don't mind me posting pics......hopefully it will not only help me but maybe some other folks with questions.
Cheryl

The first light one with blue underside is a lemon blue i think!!! In my ee's the spots come with the adult molt. It is one of my favoritr colors. (The name is mis leading though since it is not a true lemon genetically) The boys get lots of red in the shoulders so maybe you have a pullet!

That's too bad:( are you saying all the ones you hatched are missing toes? Whether it's all or just a couple, it's definitely either genetic or inbreeding...

I had 1/2 that were early quitters with blood rings, so I'm assuming genetic/inbreeding. Guess I will just wait and hatch my own.

Maybe even very rough shipping conditions could maybe cause it but I wouldn't breed that flaw regardless for the chance it may be genetic/inbreeding. I hope you can find some better stock from someone more reliable...

A friend of mine found this young lady at a gas station this winter in -15 degree weather! I brought her home warmed her up and got her integrated with my existing 7 hens in he coop rather quickly. She is very sweet and loves to be on my shoulder(and will put herself there whether or not she's invited!). Unfortunately shelost a few toes to frost bite, but is otherwise doing extremely well! I am wondering if she is a purebred D'uccle? She has feathered black legs and tufts of feathers under her beak. Any feedback?

Maybe a brown red d'uccle or d'uccle mixed with a cochin bantam :)
