I'm jealous of her tail....
SINCE D'UCCLES AREN'T SEX LINKED, i CAN'T ANSWER THAT QUESTION. i CAN SAY THAT YOUR WHITE SILKIE MAY HAVE OTHER COLOR GENES THAT THE WHITE IS COVERING UP, IF IT'S DOMINANT WHITE. tHE LITTLE TAN ONE LOOKS LIKE SHE MIGHT BE MILLIE FLUERED, BUT ONLY IF THE SILKIE IS CARRYING A SPOTTED GENE.
THE GRAY WITH BLACK IS A MYSTERY, AS USUALLY GRAY COVERS UP BLACK. tHE ONLY WAY TO GET GRAY AND BLACK ON AN ADULT BIRD IS IF THEY ARE CARRYING DOM WHITE THAT LEAVES "HOLES", OR TWO COPIES OF BLUE THAT CAN LEAVE SOME HOLES AS WELL. i HAVE LIMITED KNOWLEDGE OF THIS, SO IF ANYONE WANTS TO CORRECT ME, FEEL FREE. THE LEGS ARE KINDA SHORT FOR D'UCCLES. i WANT TO SAY THOSE ARE STUBBY COCHIN LEGS...
Even though chicks have the same parents, there are many possibilities from the cross. I believe silkies have recessive white, which is really good at hiding genes... This means there are tons of possibilities for offspring! You could hatch 100 chicks from that cross and never get two alike. Never know though!I have a genetics mystery on my hands and am hoping you nice people can help me out. My aunt has a pen with these guys in it:Close up of the mamas
I have never had bantams but I had an untried broody and thought the Silkie D'Uccle mix might be fun so I gave her 8 eggs from this pen to hatch. I got 8 chicks on Saturday 4 are Silver and 4 are gold. Here are two (one of each) with their broody mama.

So my question is do you think the reason they are two different colors when their parents are either MF or White is that they are sex linked? If so which would be which? Any guesses would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

OK so what you are saying is that it is entirely possible that the color difference is coincidental and not related to the sex of the chicks?Very true! Like two parents, most of the kids don't look that much alike, but you could have two that look identical

Thanks for responding!
Also what color is a MF D'Uccle's skin?

Probably not sex linked. I know D'uccles have white legs...
Thanks...I was trying to see my babies' skin color yesterday but could not penetrate their fuzz to get to their skin.Ok I was checking my mille yesterday for mites and her skin was white

I believe d'Uccles should have blue (blue slate) legs, but pink/white skin. I'm not positive though.
