D'uccle Thread

I believe d'Uccles should have blue (blue slate) legs, but pink/white skin. I'm not positive though.

these babies have blue slate legs but I could not see their skin...darned baby fluff!

Oh, SilkiesForEver, I was really hoping he was not, but thank you. Do D'uccles make annoying rooster? We have neighbors from all sides and live in the city so need a roo that is tame

How is his temperament now? I had a cockerel who was really sweet as a chick, and stayed that way to adulthood. Then I had another one who was flighty and loud, and he also stayed that way as he matured. I can't say that's how all of them turn out, but that's what my boys did.

We've had a very sweet and tame rooster, but most have tended to somewhere in between. All of ours have been annoying in the sense of frequent crowing. I don't mean to be discouraging, but the high pitched crowing can be non-stop, especially if you have a few. Definitely something to consider if you have lots of neighbors.

I don't get to upload pics much - here is my hen and the poorer quality roo - the breeder quality roo is off scratching .... but aren't they cute ? They came over and flew up to the balcony where I was reading. Then just preened and watched me.

( I know - I am biased) Oh - and I do not show - so not wanting any input on standards and such - they are just my bug eaters ! :)
