D'uccle Thread

Here's a pick of my odd girl. She's very quail-like?

Check out her little beard!

Another pose... She and her buddies are almost 4 months old. The boys don't have much of a tail yet, ut I'm going to show them anyway at the end of the month just for the practice.

I love her!

Here is a couple pictures of my juveniles from the roo Robin is trying to tame. There were 6 (3 look regular mille and 3 have blue instead if black)

What do yall think is going on with Dottie? She puffs even bigger if I move towards her. I removed the boys about a week ago so I figured she was just sulking. I checked for egg bound yesterday, felt no egg. She has a silkie girl in with her that has been eith them since chicks. Both of these girls rarely lay as it is so laying rate right niw tells me nothing.

Can anyone help me with my d'Uccle rainbow? I believe I know what most are but there's one I'm not sure about...here it goes

Unmarked egg but supposedly came from either a golden neck or milliefleur pen...looks like a blue milliefleur to me though?

& of course a milliefleur, the prettiest chick I've hatched so far, most didn't have as much patterning yet

I love the bottom mille chick! It is gorgeous. I took Dottie off of the roost to look her over again and feel her crop. The little snippett tried to bite me! She's never done that before. She jumped back up on the roost and is acting like a strutting turkey. This is double her size! If she is broody

with no eggs laid in over a week how in the world does she expect to set eggs ON THE ROOST?!? She eats, drinks and poops fine. No signs of anything else other than this.

She's really pretty! I have a broody Millie right now, I put a couple fertile LF eggs under her thinking her's weren't fertile (none were the week I checked) so she could hatch some chicks. I didn't think my 4 month roo was old enough but after candling one of the 4 d'Uccle eggs, to my surprise one was fertile! Surprise surprise...do you have a nesting place for her to see if she'll set? Mine will puff up but hasn't offered to peck me yet when I candle her eggs...

My first chicks I raised came from a hatchery & they didn't get any Millie spots for months, I didn't think they were going to get any but they did

I gave her three eggs from the incubator that were put in on the 5th of this month. Although I rarely get eggs from her or the silkie I am willing to give these ones up for her if it tells me what is going on. She clucked at them before jumping back on the roost:-(
