What gender is my D'Uccle I'm guessing a roo???
I need some advise i am doing poultry for show and I was going to do OEGB but my roo died so i wanted to do some Mille de fleur d'uccles are they a good bird for show?
Quote: Also, as I've used d'Uccles in showmanship myself, I have to add that they are very intelligent and independent, which makes them difficult to train. My pullet didn't like being in one position (my hand) for so long. And, as dsfrango said, they are extremely difficult to keep in show condition. They have a ton of vulnerable feathers that are easily damaged.
That's a really general question. Could you be more specific with what you mean? Any breed if up to the standard of perfection could be good for show. And I don't understand why so quick to change breeds because your roo died. If that's the breed your into and know the standards for, why not search for another roo? D'uccles are an amazing breed but are sometimes difficult to show for beginners. For example the feathered feet require certain upkeep in prep for shows.
