trying to narrow down what got him, weasels and raccoons eat heads, foxes take and run and Hawks pull feathers and go for the soft underside. Pretty sure a hawk Aww I am so sorry. Best wishes to u and prayers going your way. That's really disappointing, I'm sorry to hear. It's worse when he's one of your better show birds. I also just lost one last Sunday, my younger blue mottled Roo. Literally took this pic 3 days before I beleive a hawk got himtrying to narrow down what got him, weasels and raccoons eat heads, foxes take and run and Hawks pull feathers and go for the soft underside. Pretty sure a hawk

hopefully you'll get some good hatches this coming spring to make up for it. I'll definitely be trying to breed many more to both increase my overall flocks and be able to cull harder.I have a genetics question
If I breed a porcelain to light colored mille fleur hens can I get a blue mille fleur
Thanks in advance
A millie fleur does not have a Lav gene it is wheaten, gold, columbian, and mottling. From what I understand, porcelain is a Mille Fleur that has two copies of the Lavendar gene.
If you bred Porcelain (Lav/Lav) to Mille Fleur (lav/lav) you would get chickens that look like Mille Fleur but carry one copy of the lavendar gene (Lav/lav).
To get Blue Mille Fleur from a Mille Fleur you would need to breed them to a Splash Golden Neck colored D'uccle or to another Blue Mille Fleur D'uccle.
He is adorable!!
