D'uccle Thread

I was hoping to get a little help/encouragement with a d'uccle related thing. There is a lovely pair of porcelain d'uccles listed on craigslist that I have be eyeing I showed my husband and he is not impressed ( may have something to do with our coop not being built yet- whatever lol).

My question is how big are the d'uccles related to say australorps, dominques and wyandottes - which are what I have brooding downstairs? Will they get along and if I end up with a d'uccle roo? Will he try to mate or be successful mating with my current ladies? My ladies (6 of them total) are about 6 weeks old (hatch date March 30th) and the d'uccles I am eying were hatched March 18th.

Okay. Strike that. I had several questions. Sorry.

My rooster was young, so he didn't have the power yet and was learning his dance, and he got sick. He had just won over one of the SF.... Our rooster was 26.6 ounces. about 1/3 size of the big hens.

I heard add one hen at a time into the roosters domain. They will be the one out of their element, and he will have all of the confidence to take charge, show them around etc. I will do this next time.

There are about 5 unhatched/pipped eggs in there too!

This is my mille as a baby

not sure if it helps. The one still looks wet. How many did you start with? I am going to order some in the next week or so. I normally use my own eggs but I want a few for and my Roo is a EE .

They are so sweet, just keep them in the house

I kept 2 chicks in the house for a long time last year. They are the sweetest of the whole flock. Funny though, when they started laying, even though they had lived in their little coop for months, thought they should come in the house to lay. So adorable.

I bet he would love that! Right now My girls are starting to escape and I'm not all that pleased. They are just like cats and find the softest, hardest to clean spot to poop on. A whole room full of laminate flooring and she chose the 5 x7 rug.

I would love some blue mille fleur =) but I'd have to look at my pm she told me what colors she had but I was mostly interested in her black mottled but none of those eggs made it to lockdown =/ but I can't complain they came all the way from the east coast so two is way better then none and she did an Amazing packaging job every egg was perfect, just to many clears and quitters.
