D'uccle Thread

Hi, I have a 6 month porcelain rooster that needs a nice home if anyone wants him. I can't ship him but if you live near Ellensburg WA your welcome to pick him up. He loves to be held, has a very calm personality, and loves to be outside with the ladies.

Hello all, I have some 35week old duccles and I was wondering should I be getting egg yet?
I not they don't lay everyday, but I haven't had 1!
My rooster isn't treading them yet, when will he start, I'm so desperate for some chicks, so any guesses as to maybe when I may get stone eggs or even chicks Lol,
Many thanks x

Some bantam breeds are known not to be the most beneficial layers especially if its winter where you are at. It helps if you have an artificial light in the coop, my girls were a year and a half before their first egg.

I got my first egg today'... Thats a bbrilliant Xmas present lol. So happy

Oh Right. well my hen's combs are bright red and have been for some time now. He puts his foot onto her back but didnt actually do anything?
He sounds like a gentleman for now, hopefully he remains one, my three guys had to be removed from the bantam pen because they would all mate the same hen, one after another. They are bachelor's now.

He is such a gentle boy! he doesnt peck them or anything, he lets the hens eat before he does. its propa cute. I chucked a handful of mealworms out earlier and he shouted the hens before he had some! God i think i should be a hen!
Maybe ill get my husband to take some advice from cocker lol.
i am thinking of getting a incubator and hopefully get some chicks x
