D'uccle Thread

Any updated pics? Also I have EE Bantam chicks too! We must think alike lol

Neat! This is my first time owning chickens, after seeing the D'Uccles at the fair I fell in love with them, and even more when I read how sweet they tend to be. I really wish they were better layers, which is why I decided To also get EE's which I read tend to also be sweet natured. Plus (hopefully) colorful eggs :)
Always willing to show off my kids haha! The two dark EE's really grew their beards in the last week

The pullets combs will stay small and yellow orange until about 3-4 months, then they start getting a bit pink, the roosters are red by than.

Ok so the roosters is pinker and the girls are more orange at this age (4 weeks)? I'm so afraid I'll get a rooster and then I'll have to give him away because I can't have them! My 3 are soooo friendly... I don't want to lose any!

My avatar shows a d'uccle rooster on the left and a Cochin pullet on the right, they are roughly 3 months there, both breeds are similar in comb development, so as you can clearly see that the rooster has a very red and developed comb and wattles where the pullet have not much yet. So you should definitely know by 2-3 months what you have. They are a very personable breed.
