D'uccle Thread

I call butterscotch an even, golden cream with little mottling or lacing. A.C. has her now, and has posted a good pic on post 816.

There is a description of butterscotch on the d'Uccle club site.

In my mind, it's like a gold version of lavender. Does that make sense?

Completely, thank you. I'll need to take pics and post the coloration of this roo. He's just so odd, yet interesting, BUT I dont quite know what the exact color is. He's in the grow out pen right now and is about 4mos old. GN pattern but where it would normally be white, he is a very light buff-bluish color that really looks like 'butterscotch' candy and blue hue, so...???

Check my post #816 a few pages back. I post a pics of my GN roo, Midas.

Care for them is just like any other chicken. Just be sure to check their foot feathers often because they are more prone to getting scaly leg mites since they are covered with feathes. I have found mine breed like rabbits and always hatch a day or two early.

Wow, she's very pretty. I am certian I have at least 1 pullet then that is indeed butterscotch, possibly 2. The one looks nearly identical to your little girls color. I'm glad to finally know for SURE what she is now. I have 3 seperat project pens, thus reason for various strange, new and oddball colors that 'appear' over time.

Lori, how did you breed your BS birds? Are you still working on them and the GN's? I know it will be a while but when your ready for the lavs, let me know. Also, I need some new mille lines to work with if anyone has any birds/eggs available.

I would be more than happy to send you some Mille eggs when they start laying again. I think they are revolting against the cold weather up here in PA, since they came from Southern Maryland.

I am looking for Lav and Porcelain eggs, if anyone has any.
