There's always the chicken calculator

http://kippenjungle.nl/Overzicht.htm#kipcalculator

you can play with it, or I can tell you what most crosses will be.
Some like the cream, on the calculator, you have to adjust them by the genetic codes (ie select millie) then before calculating the cross, you have to go to the gold inhibitor section under their picture, and selcet the cream gene to be added in.

I ran the GN cream cross
showed 1/2 goldneck and half normal millies but the millies will be split to lemon
Now breed those millies back to each other and you'll get 1/2 millies and half lemons the next time

OK and when I put my GN with my Mille girls, I will get 50/50 there, right?

The calculator confuses me. I don't get genetics at all, but I a trying.

I think I was confused about mine at first too, because there was no blue, but as she matures you can see blue with her white .. it's very pale. Maybe poor quality (talking about my own bird here

) .. but I don't believe I had blue show up right away .. give her some time, you might get some blue spots too ..

I thought I would really like the blue MF, but I gotta tell ya .. I like the contrast of the black and white MF better ..

I DO have a mottled (with NO blue at all) and I really like her .. she's a character too! (not that it has anything to do with her color/pattern)

Morning everyone! As for my little hen (blue millie or not)- a better quality picture might have shown that she does have some faint (blue?) darker markings coming in or her neck. They are fairly young (about 13 wks) so from what I have read their color still has a lot of changing to do. Will post pictures as they get older- it will be fun to see what they end up looking like! BBB- thanks! I definitely think she is the prettiest!

He is looking pretty. I love the lemon color.
Do you have any hens to go with him?
I am still working for a hen to go with mine. It should be in the F2 generation. So in a year or so.

Hi Doug, I have 3 hens going in with him this weekend, then hopefully when I do my 8mo cull, I'll have 2 or 3 more to go in as well. I'm also putting a very light (almost washed out) cream girl in there. So time will tell, I'll keep you updated with pics of hatch, ect along the way.

Nancy, thanks hun, I wish there were some way you could keep your birds and continue to work with them, but family always comes first. Hang in there hun.

AC I dont advise crossing as Aubrey already stated in earlier post. Will take you longer to reach your goal, but...??

Thanks Aubrey, he's filling out nicely. Hope to hatch a few of these for comparison before sending out your batches

Keep me posted on your current progress.

TX Gal...I could maybe hook you up with some eggs from my bantam Favs, if you were interested. I have several interesting colors I'm working with right now. Your guy a LF or bantam?

Misty

He's LF and HUGE!! When he breeds my EE girls and my silkie .. they disappear under him .. literally .. he just stands over them .. lol. I'm glad he's gentle with them .. not one is missing a feather ..

The only bantams I have are my d'uccles ..... but thank you so much for your offer!

That Lemon is absolutely wonderful. Are you folks attempting to bring in a new color to showing or just experimenting at this point in time? Either way, handsome birds you guys!

Ugh, SOO...I have to Cull my MF roo, Which makes me upset because at first i thought he was going to make a nice bird, but he's not going to make the cut. SO i guess i have to find a new Roo,

or just wait till next year to hatch my own eggs.

I hate it when that happens!

What are his flaws?

Well he's ugly, im not going to get rid of him until i can replace him. But he doesn't have the type, and his color isn't good.

I forgot to ad: Large Wattles and no to little beard.

Oh. What a bummer. Is he young? Could the lack of beard fill in and make the wattles less obvious.

Maybe you should post a pic
