D'uccle Thread

I didn't notice, but yep, Misty, to me, the boy looks more blue than black! Good eye! I have blue birds, but they are solid blue Orps and Ameraucanas and I'm not used to seeing the blue with the other colors mixed in there. That pullet is definitely black where the male is more bluish. When (and if) the snow melts in a few days, will try to take more pics. This is a bad time to have a broody with chicks, dang it! Nugget had to pick the worst winter we've had in 8 years to do this, too.

It is truly something else with the weather that you southern folks are having. Up here in Maine, still blue skies, sunshine (not warm) and still sitting with about 6 inches of snow. Unbelievable is the least of it, but don't fear, come February/March we will be dumped upon up here in the northern states.
I was pleased to see that next weekend (big show in MA) is supposed to be sunny! Yippie. Also, just to drop a note here, Jerry Yeaw (pronounce Yaw like pAW or hee hAW) is a master breeder and judge at the MA show. I have one cockerel spoken for but he apparently has 12 cockerels up for sale. He is located in RI and looks like a quality line, everyone speaks of his D'uccles. I felt funny contacting him as it was another show jude that forwarded me his name, phone and address.
He is judging and can only assume he has a batch of birds for sale (D's that is).

Where is everyone staying during the Poultry Congress Show in MA (those that are traveling) ?

Here is a close up of Partiboy's back. I'm afraid the yellow is more gold than lemon:
