Are you SERIOUS? I mean really? By the time they reach you and AC they wont be any good. Have your tracked your package online? Please remember we have been iced in too, so

Lori, whats your thought on this? I know we were all down w/flu and that garb, but the TIME is what I'm wondering about. They totally shut down our KC facility for 48hrs, that explains why my KS order finally arrived today. SpeckledHen...any thoughts or suggestions? I sent them w/72hr heat packs (which I see now why MY stink Eye looked at the boxes before sending, HA) so I sure hope they work and at least HELP keep the eggletts warm. I know a lot of us have snow or ice, so please tell me what your mail has been like...Im curious.

My mail has been getting here daily, however, someone sent me a letter with a payment in it from California last Friday and it's still not here. Once I sent eggs to Washington state priority. They took my money for Priority and then sent it Parcel Post! I know because it showed it went from TN to Atlanta then out, not right at all. At that time PP went to Atlanta and that was a dead giveaway. Took a week to get there and of course, nothing hatched.

How old were they when they were mailed?
I don't think the cold will be a big issue. If you packed them like you packed mine then they should be plenty insulated.I'd still let them sit out for a couple of hours before putting them in the bator, though...

The only other issue is how much they are tossed around. And you can't always see that, unless the air cells are floating or shattered to bubbles.

around here. The other day it took Brenda (one of our carriers) till 7 22pm to get our mail to us. Paula comes by here every morning on her way to work to pick up and "egg orders" I may have

So I know they've GONE OUT, it's just wondering where they are??

The tracking info still says nothing! My road has been totally iced over and basically not drivable. The mailman literally drove right passed my house. I ran, yes, ran after him!

like a crazy person. The PO said if they were shipped on the 11th, they should be here tomorrow. I will again watch and run if necessary. My bator is warm and ready. How long should I let them sit before setting?

I can't believe this weather. My boys are still out of school. We have never been out for an entire week! Crazy! I will keep you posted...promise.

I let mine sit near the bator or on top of it till they don't feel really cold to the touch, a few hours maybe, then put them in. I've put shipped eggs in almost immediately if they weren't cold. Cold egg in warm bator= condensation.

Carolyn, my daughter hasn't been back to school since Christmas. And we're just now headed toward the normal 'bad weather' part of the season...

I usually let them rest at least 2 hours after I unwrap them. More, if they feel like icicles.
CG packs well, so I doubt they've frozen. I just hope they left them at the PO rather than letting them bounce about in the mail car.

Mine should be here tomorrow and hubby will be running to the PO to pick them up. I will make sure that he lets them sit, most likely until I get home, before they go in the bator. Misty, I will let you know as soon as they call me that they are in.

According to the lady at the PO, they have not yet arrived in Atlanta. My driver was not so helpful but at least they all know I am eagerly waiting AND they are fragile. MY PO said they wouldn't call me unless some paperwork was filed properly and the proper fee paid? Hopefully my phone calls today will help get them here safely.

So sorry to hear your DD has missed so much school. My boys couldn't be happier and of course they are out Mon too.

Drive safe tomorrow!

My regular carrier knows I want to pick them up at the P.O. so he calls with "this is your Egg Man", LOL. Good guy, has incubated eggs himself so he understands. It's what happens before they get to Mineral Bluff that is a bit scary.

Lately, some packages just don't get scanned along the way and are only scanned when they are delivered to you. I've had several that weren't scanned as they should have been.
