GC, I think the 2-tone chicks look a lot like the one you thought might be a silver mille....

I love the tiny D'uccle chick!

I need to pose her next to something. the pics are enlarged so she looks 'big'. But she's tiny!!

She looks small, compared to your other D'uccle chicks.

BTW, let me point out that 11 of 12 started, 9 made it to 10 days. So fertility on GC's eggs are really good. She packed them well, too. d'Uccle eggs are just fragile when shipped.

I agree that GC did a fabulous job with the packing and the eggs must be really fertile. I started with 11 and and 8 made it to 10 days even after sitting on the postal truck for a week! Thanks GC for taking such good care of your eggs!

I wanted to jump on real quick to let you know how bad it's been here and why I've not been online. We're all over the national news "Deep Freeze" middle US. Hope everyone else is doing well and staying warm.
I'm going to try to catch up on the thread now that I can get online.

lockdown and 6, not bad, but I had hoped for better. Keep me posted and let me know how they do.

CP, I'll get more eggies out to you so you have more than just one or 2 birds to work with. We're in a frozen state at the moment, and I mean that litterallllly! No in, no out, major hwy 44 completely shut down, thousands traped in their homes, ect. Just give Mother nature time to thaw us out and I'll get more eggs to all of you

Cyn, those babies are growing like little weeds! Yoou and Nugget have done well raising them. OH, before I forget, YES d's can FLY LIKE EAGLES!

Hey Gypsy, I see you and the chicks dug out. That is good news.

Just be careful getting around. We thought that sucker was coming here. Wheww!!! There are a few snow flurries out today and the weathermen have not been doing a very good "predicting" job, so I'm not sure that I trust them. I do know that the wind is about 60 mph gusts. I was afraid the silkies were going to go with the wind, but I went more with the wind feeding them; they were just walking around like....we bad, uh huh...we bad.

The only reason your silkies were walking around strutting their stuff in 60mph wind is probably because they could actually SEE with the fuzz outta their eyes

I know....bad joke, lol. I sure know where your coming from w/weather men...it's an 'educated guess' no matter who or where you are. They came pretty dang close on us though...worst we've had in almost 70yrs, so they say.
