(Kind of off subject so forgive me)
Gosh you guys, your making me so eggcited! I don't care what color, shape, size or how many toes are feathered, they are such cool birds. Don't get me wrong, I love my other birds equally, but these guys are such talkers and so personable. I just let the little ones out so they can explore the area before they become accustomed to just the kennel. I like having them used to feet, movement and the cats. I won't trust my cats cause they're cats, but so far in the history of chicks and these cats, these chicks can walk up, pull hair and the cat might get up and walk off or roll over. (like I said, so far so good)
These chicks are developing well, I have noticed that a few have to few patches of feathers on their middle toes. I hope its a now thing as they had down on both outside toes. The broodie hen Ruthie only had the 1 chick, one died pipped and others she got off from and I missed being able to saving them. The one that pipped and others were like in shrink wrap. I assumed that it was a incubator issue, not a moist skinned hen! I welcome your opinion. But Ruthie is so proud of her little spoiled brat, omg, he hops over her, comes out through every feather on her body. But its so awesome to watch life unfold naturally.
Oh, btw Cynthia, I love the sayings you have, wow! As we have discussed a 101 times, chickens do not catch colds. And on another note, it kinda drives me nuts that people claim for a cure when its simply just gone dormant again. Sufferin succotash!
Also the Chickens are a hobby, not a religion!
On saying I have made on a "shingle" "Unattended Children will be given sugar and a free rooster" , we sorta copied it from a sign at a local coffee shop "Unattended children will be given caffeine and a free kitten" in which I have laughed over for months!
