D'uccle Thread

Anyone in or near Oregon interested in a Porcelain roo? I have 2 very nice looking porcelain boys now 7 weeks old I need to find good homes. I can post pics if anyone is interested. They are both very sweet and tame.

I also wanted to say that I have totally fallen in love with this breed! I got a group of 6 chicks 7 weeks ago from a fellow BYC member, and they have been so wonderful! These are by far the friendliest, calmest, sweetest chicks I have raised! Their is one little mille fleur roo in the bunch that just loves to be held and pet...he will fall asleep in my hands, or on my lap, and just stay until I make him get down. And he loves to nuzzle me a lot...rubbing his face and head against me. The whole batch of six is very tame, and very personable. I am totally stuck on this breed!

I finally got a few more d'uccle babies to hatch out, I have had an issue with getting them to hatch in my bator! Dunno what the problem is, but have 2 new babies that hatched under my OEGB and have 4 more that are right at day 17 under a silkie. yay! lol I got 2 milles and 2 porcelains early March from my pair, but 3/4 were Roos!!!! *ugh* lol maybe this bunch will be better and i can atleast get 2 or 3 girls!?

I am new to d'uccles. I have a porcelain pair that is 2-3 months old (female is 2 months, male is 3 months). They are from the same parent flock but hatched at different times, so they are likely at least half-siblings. I have been wanting to get some more porcelain pullets & have some eggs in the incubator now.

Yesterday, a friend of mine who knows I'm looking for pullets to breed with my male showed up with this adorable little d'uccle pullet for me! Thing is... she's SOLID WHITE!

Is that a usual color for a d'uccle? She came from a hatchery, and I know hatchery stock is usually quite different from breeder stock, but sometimes you get a really, really good bird from a hatchery (it happens). This girl is really sweet, has a good personality and likes being handled/held. When she matures, if I breed her with my porcelain roo, will I get splits? What causes a white d'uccle? I've just never seen one before, though admittedly I have not looked very extensively. This is just the first one I've come across.

ETA: She appears to be of excellent quality for being hatchery stock. She has a nice beard for a 4-week-old, good leg feathering, and that every-popular middle toe feathering, as well.

D'uccles do come in white. They're really pretty, I bet she is too!

I really don't know anything else.
