AHHHH!!! I didn't think about candling them.

I am not a good candler so I might be back with more questions. I am at work now and will candle them tonight. I'll let you know how it goes!! Thank so much for your help!!!

Hmmmmmm...........Nate can you expound on that issue of dark youngsters. I'm on the fence about which of two cockerels to keep, one is what I think of as normal bay coloring with a couple of chevrons here and there, the other one is a darker bay color, no chevs and an overall darker look (more black feathering in wings and tail).

Well I've only had my birds for a couple of years but in the best birds I've had as far as coloring had lots of black in them as juveniles, could be coincidence so please don't go by that. In a few more years I would be able to tell you for sure maybe. What's a "chevron" Nancy
