D'uccle Thread

I think the one one your shoulder is definitely a girl, but the first pic looks like boy d'uccles to me. I think I tend to hatch more boys than girls too. I think next year I'm going to order some mille pullets from mpc just to even things out.

3 porcilens look like hens from that angle the milli looks like a roo and the one on your shoulder is pullet

Yep, the one on my shoulder has almost no comb what-so-ever. The porcelains are throwing me off though. The two in the front have slightly prominent combs, nowhere near as prominent as the Mille fleur of the same age. There combs are slightly red or pinkish at the base but the rest is plain. Do the porcelains usually develop slower than the Mille fleurs?

Thanks for checking out the pics and giving me your opinion Teddi and hdowden! I appreciate it.

Question about foot feathering: does it thicken up as they get older? I'm asking because some have heavier feathering than others and I wondered if after they molt if more feathers will come in.

Very pretty! At what age did her comb start to change colors?

thank you. She is 7 months old. About when she was 5-6 months old. It was pink and then gradually started to go red. It's getting redder

I took a bunch of pics of my chicks so I could select the two entries I wanted to make, and then saw the age requirements fo the chicks! I can't take or post for one more week! Then they'll be one and a half months! So expect two chick entries from me next week!

How can you not love d'Uccles? Those cute faces!
I am almost done with the web page for mine.
Here is a new beauty I got last weekend.
