He's a nice man. Go to any poultry show and you'll prbably find him around the Booted Bantams. he's not so much into d'Uccles any longer, but bred them for quite a while!

If you do get to meet with him, see if he's got any tips for me since you have some of my chicks!

Okay, you sucked me in and I went and posted 3 pics there.

I posted on it and hope it will pick up some new people. This is a great breed and I had a hard time getting into them even though Janelle swore she tried last year to convince me. That Porcelain color is what drew me in and then everyone said they wer such a sweet breed so I took the plunge and OMG, here I am and loving it! And now I have others on my SC thread also owning some of these beauties so I am slowly converting the population.

I still am not too sure about showing though. I suppose I would do it to help get the breed more recognized but I am not competitive so that is not a factor. And having shown horses, dogs, flowers and Guinea Pigs has shown me that some judges.....well, they often do not know the standard of what they are judging. But it should be all in fun for me and not taken too much to heart, I suppose. Probably only the winners agree with the judges!

Amy is right, she is converting a few of us on the SC thread. My family hopes to become the owner of some Mille Fleurs d'Uccles this coming week. A person in my area is selling their d'Uccles to make room for another breed and we should be getting them by the end of this week.
We have only seen pictures of the birds so far and I would like to share them with your thread and see what you think....
This is the year old rooster we will be getting....

This is the year old hen....

This is this years hatchling cockerel.... I know he has a lot of solid white feathers still--will he molt these? Are they a problem?

And last but not least is the little, this season's, pullet....

Of course they will be pets but we would also like something we could work toward for showing if my daughter gets interested in that. I would appreciate peoples thoughts...
