I need some help in where to go next in my little flock. Here is what I have been working on. Yes it all started on test eggs from Teddi, so it begins. I have one Porcelain and had a dominate Mille Fleur that lacks black spangles, but has beautiful foot feathering. Said girl

These two got together and had said chicks
All the eggs she gave me hatched. She took a break and then started again and gave me a few more that I set and got these on the 29th (some are Bantam White Ameraucana)
I would consider all these to be First Generation, right? Here is what else I'm working on
My little Black and Blue Mottled. These were obtained from Pamper Poultry. I was wondering if I could stir up the genes a little by putting the Mille girls with the Black Mottled little roo (when ready that is) and add more black to them?

not really sure about that but i do know by talking to people that a pure black d'uccle(s) are what i need to improve my self blues but i just dont know were to look, as all the chicks would be black but also be split for lavendar. and i would breed the splits back to the self blue and have 50/50 from them. it might work the same to add the black spangles but i'm not sure...have you tried the gentics calculater?
I finally have ONE hen in the black pen who is laying, AND there are finally 2 eggs in the bator that are fertile as well

I have a millie hen that is laying, but still not fertile
She is not with the roo I want her to be with, so I need t figure out how to shuffle some birds.
My self-blue roo is not SQ at the moment, but improving every day. He is finally getting it on with the ladies, who are ALL high quality, so maybe I will have some nice babes to choose from later this spring. I see a LOT of hatching in my future!
Michelle, I would put the millie boy in with the girls that look the most millie and see what happens. He may be carrying something he isn't showing, and you won't know until you cross him to some millie girls.
I'd keep everyone as close to 'like' colors as you can for the next generation and see what you get. As you wait for the offspring to mature, visit local shows and see what other breeders may be showing in your area.
If you arean't happy with the next generation of millies, buying a new millie roo will get you where you want to be a LOT faster than crossing to the mottled birds.

hey teddi in the above post isnt that one of your babies all grown up and dont they have the porcilane hertage that could cause him to not have the black on him, dont want it thrown out of propotion here just asking a simple question
? hes very handsome to me even without the black
breed him back to some millies a few times always picking the best ones if no millies avialble then i would use the black mottled.

Yes he does have a porcelain papa and a mille mom. Not sure how it would affect the coloring, but his mom doesn't have very sharp black crescents on her chest. His dad's patterning was also subtle as well. I don't own his papa anymore as I felt he was throwing chicks with not so good shoulder feathering. I took some pics of my flock tonight with the flashlight for fun I'll have to upload (of my porcelains).
Two from my younger generation. Unfortunately that hen is missing a claw on one of her toes, and I think it's genetic as my favorite hen Babymama has the same thing. But that would explain why this hen is such a sweetheart.
