Just wanted to share how my Black and Blue Mottled D'Uccles are growing. They are about 17 weeks old and I still have a long way till I will get eggs. But what does everyone think? Thanks, Michele

It looks more like a self-blue d'Uccle chick to me than a silkie. How many toes? Silkies have 5.

It has 4 toes and the skin is not black. I took better pictures but can't upload from my phone, so I will upload them in the morning. Thank u btw

Mstricer, they are beautiful!!!! The spotting on the pullet is so perfectly spaced. My mottleds are much less symmetrical I'm jealous!

Can someone please tell me if this is a d'uccle? I have been searching trying to figure out what type of bantam he/she is and self blue d'uccle is the closest thing I have come accross that looks like it. He/ she was part of a bantam assortment at Tractor Supply and I'm dying to know what he/she will look like grown. BTW some gorgeous babies on here!! Sorry for the not so good pic, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

He/she is a self blue D'Uccle I ordered 5 from a hatchery along with 5 blue silkie chicks there was an obvious difference, I got 2 dark blue one light blue and 2 splash silkie chicks. the little light blue one looks nothing like the self blue D'Uccle chicks. Remember, tractor supply probably ordered there chicks from a hatchery and i ordered mine from Welp. Being as they are hatchery stock they may have dark beaks and legs, there skin should not be dark which you mentioned. hatcheries do not breed to the breed standards in most cases so you are likely to get a chick that looks like he/she and will eventually grow out of the dark colored beak.
here is my Welp hatchery Self blue D'uccle for comparison, The lighting in my house suck, please excuse the color. See how the beak is dark, when they first arrived there beaks were solid black and as they get older it is changing.

Thank you everyone. I got the eggs from Pampered Poultry. I was glad I got one girl and a boy. My Mille's and Porcelain's I hatched in December look alright and on the Mille's the feathering is so different on all of them. I am keeping one girl and one boy. Now if I can sell the rest. I'm going to Meyer today to see if I can put an ad up on their bulletin board, today is chick pick up day and I don't think they have any available until June. Wish me luck

Give me a few months and I can send you a few eggs. I'v never mailed any but I'd give it a try for practice.
