D'uccle Thread

Heres pictures of the chick that I got out of the trio(two black hens and a white rooster) I used to have(ended up selling them because I needed the room).I'm going to keep most of their offspring though. I have 11 of their chicks including this cockerel and a younger chick that hatched out under a broody hen.I'll get pictures of the other chicks once they feather out more. A lot of their chicks are feathering out with blue, black, white, and tan in their feathers. I have a few that are solid blue and solid black so far. The cockerels feet feathers are huge and hes very beautiful,I plan on keeping him. He does have a beard its just hard to see since hes feathering out and looks crazy. I posted pictures of him as a chick in this thread.

I am thinking the same thing. VERY pretty. I am really enjoying this breed. I am toying with getting more and making their own run and coop. They are so pretty and so sweet!

Greetings!

Just to let everyone know I'm still plunking along here in Maine .

I have plenty of porcelain Teddi hens and the offspring of Teddi hens. Bantams are not "flying off the shelf" in sales here.....Mainers want LARGE fowl egg layers!

I have a few mille fleurs too, but their color is inconsistant.....working on that. The millies at the Central Maine Show were NOT the darker type.

And finally, I ordered some hatchery d'uccles in yellow neck and self blue. So few places to get those varieties that I had to cave in and hope....

I'm still here and I love my d'Uccles!

I find the same thing with here in FL about selling them. Very small market for them.
