D'uccle Thread

They basically told me well it's not our fault. I told them to call the place they got them from & see what they say & to call the other special order customers & make sure they don't have some D'uccles. If I get some D'uccles I think I will wait till next year & see if these gals will mother them, and I will get them from an actual breeder.

Well that sucks, 3 years ago I ordered Some Mille Fluer D'Uccle through my feed store Gal, I was showing them to a friend of mine who lives in England and said that they were columbian Barbu D'Uccle not Mille Fluer. Either way I loved them except they all turned out to be handsome boys LOL!
Sorry they ordered in the wrong breed for you, I would keep after them or ask if you could get the number to the hatchery and personally call them yourself if the place does not deal with the issue, they could have very well ordered a mixed box of bantam silkie and D'Uccle and not knowing which was which gave you the wrong chicks.
By calling the hatchery yourself you can determine who was in the wrong.
either way the place you ordered from is responsible being as they should be well informed on what breed they order in and should have known immediately that they were sent the wrong thing or if they did order mix box should have known what breed was what. I have an Awesome chicken lady who works for our feed store and will order in chicks for me anytime she is well educated and if she does not know of the breed she does her research before going ahead and ordering so that she can make sure the right breed is shipped and is very honest about what she thinks of them!

Yeah I'm bummed. I buy all of my very expensive dog & cat food from this store. I haven't decided what I want to do. On one hand, the silkies only cost 8 bucks & I love them. On the other, I had already considered silkies & ruled them out and its the principal of the matter. I may just give the situation an honest google review & continue to shop there, but not for chickens.

Hello all!

I tried to read this thread and catch up to the end, but with 537 pages, I just cant do it- so Im just going to jump in. Here are my four pullets- on the coop roof, just because they can- and they have actually gone to the house roof top from there- acting like sparrows.
These are the favorites of all my chickens.

Here are the new chicks in my "Chick Room". The d'Uccles are self blue, golden neck and a couple of milles. Pay no attention to the partridge cochins lurking....lol
