D'uccle Thread

Could I give the the female and one roo away and keep one of Roos with my flock of standards. The only reason I would keep one of the Roos is so the female is not kept with her and the two Roos. It would be to much for her to handle. The more I think about it the little darlings are not something I want as I have people lined up to buy my eggs and the bantams lay small eggs and late layers.
Yes, you can do that.

Bantam roos don't seem to know that they're small, and adore having a flock of big women to tend to.

ok last pics for now of all of the hatched babies (10): 5 lavender/porcelain d'uccles and 5 silkie/d'uccle mixes

Heres the first egg I ever hatched...which I still have:)!! It just so happened to be a W Silkie/Mille. Thats his dad right behind him....It ended up being a rooster but I am still keeping him.

Haha, he does kinda have that color combo goin on. Some spangling would have been cool but I'm happy with him regardless:) he has the sqeakiest little crow, it's too funny. We'll see how yours come out. I'm just glad they get along. I have 4 roosters together with 8 hens in my free range/mixed flock.

oh i cant wait to see them completely feathered out...i still dont know how i got those 2 solid black mixes and when i say black i mean they are black as black can be lol the parents to their parents were a white silkie and a mille rooster and the chicks parents are buff and black. i need to take some pics of my babies outside and do an update on them as well
